The staff of the Pottery Workshop is unique. They come from all over China, and even outside China, to work in this exciting environment. Besides their regular jobs, each employee is a talented artist.
乐天陶社的员工每个都是相当优秀的,他们来自中国各地,有些更来自国外。由于乐天优越的工作环境,员工们除了日常的工作外,也会同时创作自己的作品,可以说他们每一个人都称得上是艺术家。

Takeshi Yasuda 安田猛

Takeshi Yasuda
Director at the Jingdezhen Pottery Workshop, professional artist for the last 30 years+. Takeshi Yasuda is well known for his unique tableware and his critical survey of European eating habits. His work is represented in numerous collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum. Takeshi has held one-man exhibitions in Europe, Australia and Japan.
安田猛先生是现任景德镇乐天陶社主持人,是世界知名陶艺家,从事艺术工作已经30多年,除了创作了很多非常著名的陶瓷作品以外,他对欧洲饮食习惯也很有研究。他的陶瓷艺术作品被很多博物馆收藏和展示,这其中包括英国的”维多利亚和阿尔伯特博物馆”(V&A),同时他在欧洲,澳大利要和日本多次举办过个人作品展。

Caroline Cheng 郑祎

Caroline Cheng C2's work
Caroline Cheng is the Director of the Pottery Workshop. Cheng has been an independent studio artist for the last 17 years and enjoys being the Big Cheese at the Pottery Workshop. She has had 7 solo and over 50 group exhibitions; including Hong Kong, Beijing, USA and Paris. Cheng is an active promoter of ceramics in Hong Kong and China.
郑祎女士是乐天陶社社长。作为艺术家,郑祎女士拥有自己的独立工作室已经有17年的时间了,同时她很尽责的管理着整个乐天陶社。她本人已经成功举办过7次的个人作品展,她参与的集体展览超过50次,展览的地点包括香港,北京,美国和巴黎。郑祎女士同时也在香港和中国大陆积极推进陶瓷艺术的发展。

An all-round office assistant and artist guide, Bai Xu has taken on the difficult task of making everything run smoothly.

Dryden Wells

Dryden Wells comes to the Pottery Workshop from St. Louis, Missouri. Having recently completed his Graduate Studies in ceramics at Texas Tech University in May 2008, Wells joins the PWS Staff to assist in the maintenance and development of the Design Studio. Wells works both in domestic wares and sculptural ceramics which have been exhibited extensively in the USA in the last two years. While the subject of Wells’ sculptures remains animal-form based, his recent research has focused on the interplay of multiple forms to create interiors, exteriors and the experience of movement.
Dryden Wells来自美国密苏里州的圣路易斯,08年5月他取得了德克萨斯理工大学的陶瓷硕士学位,7月,他加入景德镇乐天陶社,主要负责设计工作室的日常管理和发展工作。Dryden的作品主要是家用器皿和基于动物形态的陶瓷雕塑,在过去的两年中,他在美国参加了多次的展览。Dryden最近作品的主要焦点是多种形式(包括内部,外部,运动体验等)间的相互作用。

Dong Dong 冬冬

Dong Dong helps run the downstairs production studio.  He oversees the production of slipware, fires our gas kilns, and in his spare time works on his own thrown porcelain work.

Ling Ling and Xiao Xiong

Ling Ling came from our Shanghai workshop to help out in the lower studio, while Xiao Xiong came from Beijing to work in the cafe.  Each does their own work in the studio in their spare time.

Chen Yi He is Dong Dong’s right-hand man, helping out with all aspects of production in the lower studio.
