The Pottery Workshop started as an artist studio which focused on the study of functional wares. Over the years, it has successfully attracted ceramic lovers from all walks of lives. From running regular classes to organizing exhibitions, master classes and forums, The Pottery Workshop is instrumental in promoting ceramic art locally. Today, the workshop establishes its new perspective on defining ceramics, striking a balance between the development of functional and non-functional wares.

Entering its 23rd anniversary, The Pottery Workshop would like to share with the community the joy of working with clay. “From Pottery to Ceramics” is an exhibition showing works by over thirty students from our adult classes. The works range from functional to sculptural, from rational to expressive - not only do they reflect the different personalities of the makers, they also tell much about the workshop’s transformation in the past few years.
